College Hill Festival at the Preservation Texas Institute

October 10, 2026 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. | Tehuacana, Texas

Join Preservation Texas in Tehuacana on Saturday, October 10, for the first annual College Hill Festival, a free, family-friendly event that is open to the public!

Spend the day exploring our historic campus, originally established in 1869 as the home of Trinity University, and learn about our one-of-a-kind vision for the future Preservation Texas Institute.

The festival will feature activities for all ages throughout the day, including live heritage trades demonstrations, a rummage sale, displays by local cultural heritage organizations, food trucks, raffle prizes, an outdoor concert, and more!

Exhibits will be displayed inside campus buildings, including an exploration of the history of Tehuacana and the colleges that once operated on College Hill, as well as our Handmade Texana exhibit, featuring a selection of early Texas decorative arts acquired by Preservation Texas from Dallas Heritage Village.

If you have artifacts, photographs, documents, or other materials that you would be willing to lend for inclusion in our Tehuacana/ campus history exhibit, we would love to hear from you. Please email a photograph of the item along with a brief description and its connection to the history of Tehuacana or the campus to hunick@preservationtexas.org.

This event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the concert. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, though you are also welcome to bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic on the historic grounds. We look forward to welcoming you to Tehuacana!

Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available for this event. Learn more below.
